5 days past due date

Written by Louise

Boo, the title I believe is self explanatory. We are still here waiting, but on the upside have possibly our last grand prix weekend to entertain without being mummy and daddy!!!

Last 5 days have been fairly unbearable and after a disappointing appointment at the midwife who was far from reassuring or confident in her manner, I left feeling very down in the dumps.

Although I have now regained my optimisim and had a reality check- (it will be here either way in one weeks time) I find it most unhelpful that people continue to want to tell u all about their experiences, how they were late then had to be induced more than once, had back to back babies with no problem, did this and it started labour, did that and it started labour, went 11 days overdue, 12 days overdue, 2 weeks overdue, had a brilliant labour of a few hours with no pain relief, had a really long labour of nth proportion!!!! I think you’re all getting the message.

Then u have the people that text everyday, even though they’ve never picked up the phone to ask me how I am in the last year, who then become consumed by the need to text continuously with, ‘any news?’ or
‘well?’. These are the people that tend to infuriate me.

Lots of people do genuinely care and for that I am thankful for everyday and very much appreciate, but Dave-Mr laid back is now being asked everyday, several times a day in work if there’s, ‘any news’??? Not likely if he’s still sat at his desk!! I always imagined he’d be at my side during the birth of our child but other people seem to think he’d rather be at work.

People do do strange things sometimes.

Anyway it’s the weekend. We have each others company again until Monday and I keep my fingers crossed that by the end of the weekend something may happen. In the meantime we have sone serious grand prix qualifying and racing to watch which will pass several hours and will stop the mind numbing waiting that will no doubt continue when Dave goes back to work on Monday with still no developments!!!!

Oh and when it arrives- you will know. Although the order you will all be told in is already pre-determined by the contact sheet developed for after the event. Fortunately for most of you who will read these blogs, you’re near the top!!!!!

Loads of love x

Lou Lou, I’m interested to know the details of the contact sheet. I dont mind where I come on the sheet cos as soon as mum flies to Oxford I’ll know its imminent!!!!! Speaking of mum, she’s convinced its a girl and I’m convinced its a boy….either way I’ll benefit from a share of the fruit cake with Mum and Dave! Speaking of Dave, does Rob have him chained to the desk in work…..so he cant leave? Might be an explanation for why people think he would be at his desk and wouldnt be at the birth of your first born!!!! Anyway, I’m excited about being “proper Auntie Helen”, not quite as excited as the person who has been buying clothes for a girl, mentioning no names! I hope for mums sake its a girl, cos I’m not sure that the pink leggins shes bought would look good on a little boy….that said at least he’d be comfortable with his sexuality from a very young age!!!!
Arrrhhh well, the tension mounts but as you say boy or girl it’ll be here in a week!!!! Loadsa love…us two XXXXX

    Hey guys!
I see you haven’t got a new post since Joseph came along! Not surprising either.
It was really great to see you on Monday and I hope you both are coping with it all.
Dave, lovely cakes and savouries today but not as nice as those cakes we ate on Monday!
    They were awesome!
Bless you both and see you again soon hopefully.
Dan & Hannah (and Becs but she is still not back from work yet!)
